Why not custom or Google fonts?

Email clients don’t work like web browsers. Browsers can load and render any font from the web — email clients can’t. Most email clients rely on a limited set of pre-installed fonts, and when they encounter a font they don’t support, they silently replace it with a default system font.

This means a signature designed with a custom font might look exactly as intended in Gmail on Chrome, but completely different in Outlook on Windows — or on a recipient’s mobile device. The sender never sees the difference, but the recipient does.
